Our Story
Born from passion for martial arts and the need for protection
Where does Black Belt Soap come from?
Black Belt Soap was born from a frustration shared by many BJJ and martial arts practitioners: skin infections. Ringworm, staph, fungal infections... these problems are too common in our sports. Skin-to-skin contact, shared mats, and the warm, humid environment create ideal conditions for bacteria and fungi to spread.
As a passionate practitioner, I decided to create a solution: a handmade soap that combines natural ingredients with proven antimicrobial properties, while remaining gentle on the skin.
The Problem with Mat Infections
Combat sports present specific risks of skin infections. Here are the main threats:
Ringworm
A highly contagious fungal infection that appears as circular red patches on the skin. It spreads through direct contact or via contaminated surfaces like mats and equipment.
Staph Infections
Bacterial infections that often start as red bumps resembling pimples. Without treatment, they can become painful abscesses requiring antibiotics.
Fungal Infections
Athlete's foot and other fungal infections thrive in warm, humid environments. Locker rooms and mats are breeding grounds for their development.
Prevention is Essential
Doctors recommend showering within 30 to 60 minutes after training with an antimicrobial soap. This is exactly why Black Belt Soap was created.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to allow martial arts practitioners to focus on their training without fearing infections. We believe natural prevention is the best approach, and that quality ingredients make all the difference.
